Our Story
Up A Notch Abilities was born from a deep desire to reimagine what’s possible for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Founded in San Diego by a team of passionate advocates, educators, and family members, we saw a gap in services that truly honored the individuality, autonomy, and dreams of the people we love and serve.
Our name reflects our mission. We are here to uplift, to amplify, to turn up the volume on voices that deserve to be heard and celebrated. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to live a full, empowered life, surrounded by community and rooted in dignity.
What started as a vision is now a growing movement. And we’re just getting started.

Behind Up A Notch Abilities is a passionate, heart-led team of professionals, advocates, and changemakers who believe in the power of possibility. Each member of our team brings a unique blend of lived experience, professional expertise, and deep commitment to inclusion.
We’re educators, parents, direct support professionals, and dreamer, united by a shared belief: that adults with disabilities deserve more than just services. They deserve opportunity, community, and joy.
